Lorna Dueck speaks with Canada’s Health Minister, the Honourable Jane Philpott about the Opioid Drug Crisis

Burlington, Ontario – January 11, 2017:  Tonight at 8:00 PM ET, the season premiere of Context with Lorna Dueck (Context) will air LIVE on YES TV. Crossroads Global Media Group (CGMG) CEO and Context host, Lorna Dueck, will sit down with Canada’s Federal Health Minister, the Honorable Jane Philpott, to discuss the opioid crisis facing our nation.

The Health Minister has called the increase in opioid overdoses a “national health crisis…we haven’t got the final numbers in, but it looks like over 2016 there will be upwards of 3,000 young Canadians that will have died of an opioid overdose. We have never seen numbers like that before,” says Philpott on Context TV. The Minister will discuss the government’s opioid strategy and how her faith is guiding her through one of the most difficult and important portfolios in Canadian government.
